Like other shows, ABC’s The Goldbergs Season 7 got cut short due to the ongoing pandemic. However, its finale episode has to hold for a while. Since The Goldbergs Season 8 will give tribute to the 1980s parody comedy classic Airplanes! The finale supposed to portray the major event as hinted in its last chapters. However, it’s quite impossible to shift the finale as the eighth season premiere, as the Goldbergs family is now chasing the skies for their short vacation. Further, at [email protected] panel, Wendi McLendon-Covey (matriarch Beverly) teased the future changes that her family would experience.
The Goldbergs, created by Adam F. Goldberg, is a period sitcom series on ABC. The series is based on Goldberg’s childhood and family in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, in the 1980s. It follows the era’s pop culture portrayed by the series creator, which shows the 80s reality. The series depicts the creator’s childhood events, which he regularly videotaped. Many of those videos reenacted throughout the series, where Adam (Sean Giambrone) documents his family’s lifestyle. His grandfather Albert “Pops” Solomon (George Segal) helps him through his advice. Will Season 7 Finale Shift To Season 8?
Recently, The Goldbergs cast appeared at the [email protected]’s panel, where Wendi McLendon-Covey talked about the seventh season finale. It was centered on the wedding. However, Wendi and other casts in the panel haven’t revealed anything about whose wedding it was. The other casts at the panel included Hayley Orrantia (Erica), Sean Giambrone (Adam), and Troy Gentile (Barry).
It prior set as the season’s finale. Now it’s unsure whether this wedding event would be portrayed somewhere in between the eighth season or not. But, there’s a high possibility that the finale event would shift to the eighth season finale. As we all know, the wedding event was focused on the tribute to the 1980s cinema. So, there’s no chance that the eighth season would begin with this.
A Tribute To Airplanes!
In the seventh season, The Goldbergs took a road trip to give a tribute to National Lampoon’s Vacation. Now, the family is heading to another trip. But they are flying on a jet plane this time. However, this isn’t the first time when the Goldbergs are flying. As we know, Barry found his girlfriend Lainey (AJ Michalka) on the same flight. On which, Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) proposed Julia Sullivan (Drew Barrymore). In an episode that linked with the 1980s romantic comedy The Wedding Singer.
However, it’s not revealed where the Goldbergs are going for their vacation yet. In the panel discussion, Wendi compared the Airplanes!, tributes to their “Dinner with the Goldbergs” episode, where everything happened in a single space. On which, Doug Robinson, the executive producer, mocked on the eighth chapter. He added that the only crazier thing than having dinner with the Goldbergs, is sharing a flight with them (he laughed). It could be possible that we would see Goldbergs interacting with other passengers on the plane.
