Superheroes are in no way a novel concept in anime. Throughout its rich history, countless anime have been made around superheroes. Yet, when in October 2015, One Punch Man made itself familiar, it felt like a new life had been given to the genre. The anime is adapted from One’s webcomic of the same name. The first season aired from October to December 2015. And the second ran between April and July 2019. Moreover, the anime changed studios twice in the course of its run. The first season was produced by Madhouse and J.C Staff made the second. Additionally, multiple OVAs were also released.
One Punch Man Season 3: Release date
Unfortunately, the anime series is yet to be renewed. Though the second season wasn’t received well by fans and critics. So, the future of the series looks quite uncertain right now. However, the anime is immensely popular and could still get a third season. Additionally, the creators of the series have also expressed their intent to make season three.

One Punch Man Season 3: Possible cast
Since the series hasn’t been officially renewed, we don’t know who’d feature in the upcoming season. Still, the anime would be incomplete without Saitama (Makoto Furukawa), the titular protagonist. Of course, Genos (Kaito Ishikawa) would also follow his ‘master’ and return in the new season.
In addition, other heroes such as King (Hiroki Yasumoto), Bang (Kazuhiro Yamaji), Fubuki (Saori Hayami) would also return. As for the villains, we know for sure Garou (Hikaru Midorikawa) would be seen. But whether new villains would appear is yet to be known.
One Punch Man Season 3: Expected plot
At the moment, we’ve no idea about the plot of season three. However, we believe that the new season would be adapted from the 17th and other volumes of the manga. Season three would see The Hero Association fighting against their villainous counterparts.
Furthermore, Garou is also expected to get more powerful. And his rivalry with Saitama will be focused on as well. In addition, more light will be shed on the Monster Association’s leader, Orochi. Regardless of what happens, fans can certainly expect to see the trademark humor and action sequences.
One Punch Man Season 3: Storyline
The anime follows Saitama, a ‘hero for fun’. As the name suggests, he can actually defeat opponents with a single punch. But due to his massive strength, Saitama starts finding his job boring. In addition, he’s on the lookout for a worthy opponent. And in his journey, he meets both heroes and villains. In essence, the series is a satirical take on the superhero genre.
