LaMelo Ball is an American professional basketball player. Born on 22nd August 2001, he currently plays for Illawarra Hawks. He plays at the point guard position. Born in California, with two elder brothers, at a very young age, he started playing basketball in American Athletic union teams. He was guided by his father, who is the founder of JBA (Junior Basketball Association) and CEO of Big Baller Brand.

As a freshman, he started playing for the Chino Hills High School along with his brothers Lonzo and Liangelo. They went onto claim the mythical national championship. LaMelo was named the MaxPreps National Freshman of the year. Subsequently, in his sophomore and senior year, he was at the top of his game. He then went on to play as a professional player and became the youngest ever player to do so.

Professional Career

In December 2017, he signed up with the Prienai for the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He made is debut in January 2018. With a decent score total at the end of the tournament and injuring himself, he left Prienai. His father criticized the team as he was given less playing time in the matches.

Later, in May 2018, he was signed by the Los Angeles Ballers for the Junior Basketball Association. Performing exceptionally well in his debut match, he led his team to win the championship against the Seattle Ballers. With the tournament ending on a winning note, Lamelo returned to the United States due to his senior year in high school.

A year later, in 2019, Lamelo Ball signed up a two-year contract with the Illawarra Hawks. Scoring and playing exceptionally well throughout the matches, he suffered a foot injury and missed four weeks of matches. After the end of the tournament, because of the injury and remaining benched half the matches, he parted ways with the team and returned to the United States. Currently, he is preparing for the 2020 NBA draft.
